2013 so far...

2013 started of being very fun. I am enjoying all the stuff I have been doing in room 12. So far I have gone swimming,  jump jam and done a lot of art. I am looking forward to learning lots of new things.

The last piece of chocolate

     The last piece of chocolate

I was starving! It was nearly dinner time but I needed something NOW! Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I spied the last piece of Caramel Marshmallow Delight (my favourite chocolate). I know I was meant to leave it for granny when she comes back from France but I just had to eat it. I cheekily thought of a plan. Maybe I could just take one bite. I took one bite then another then another. Poof! The chocolate was gone! Uh oh here comes mum... so  that’s the story of how I got stuck in bed at 5:00.

Dairy farm visit

In term 4 we have been learning about dairy farms.On wedensday (halloween)I went on a trip to a dairy farm with the rest of the middle syndacyte.

First we got into cars and drove to the farm. I went with Loren,Debbie and Fin.We talked all throughout the car ride! When we arrived we spread out our picnic blankets and we sat down.

Then we had morning tea. I ate some chocolate fingers with my group. Suddenly they were all gone! Loren had to ask for more food after we finished the whole packet because she started thinking me and megan were popcorn!

Next we went on a farm walk with room 11 and room 9 while room 8 and room 10 went into the milking shed.When it was our turn we got to see the cows getting milked.Room 7 had to try to not get cow pat all over miss workman.

After that we had a gumboot throwing compatition victoria, titus and ocean got into the finals.then we went to look at the effluint pond and to have a turn with the presure hose.

Next we had lunch and we watched the gumboot final.Finally we went back home with the perent we came with.I was lucky because my dad stopped for icecream.

BP challenge

On tuesday I went to the bp challenge with the rest of the BP team.  I enjoyed sneaking to the Italian garden before the challenge.

grass heads

This is my grass head. This is how I made it. First I filled a stocking with grass seeds and dirt.
 Next I stuck googly eyes,a paper dress and pipe cleaners. I hope you like my grass head!

Long jump

This is a video of me doing long jump.

My goal is to jump further. I can achieve this by also jumping high at the same time. I need to remember to lift my arms in the air when I jump.

Melbourne cup

Today at 5:pm I watched the Melbourne cup. The Melbourne cup is a very important horse race.I bet on  number 3.Number 3 was called Jackalberry. Sadly my horse did not win but...it came 3rd!woohoo! My dad said I might get 20 dollars.

Calendar art

This is my art for the school calendar this year.It is a picture of blossoms and birds.To make the background I dyed all of my paper green then  I put on some spots of blue dye with a sponge. The next day I drew branches with brown pastel. Next I painted some blossoms by mixing pink paint and using my fingers to create the shape of the blossom.Then I created birds out of wall paper and I stuck them on.I enjoyed using spare wall paper to make insects. I found it difficult to stick  the birds on the blossoms.Next time I will paint more blossoms on my branches.

Explanation writing

How milk gets from the cow to the supermarket

We all know milk is a healthy drink we all need to drink a lot but how does it get from the cow to the supermarket?

First the cows begin their life as a calf and it drinks its mums milk .Next the cows eat grass and their udder gets full. then the cows go to the milking shed to get milked. The milk then goes through barn in pipes that leads to the milk parlour. After that the milk gets stored in a refridgerated tank.The milk gets collected every 1-2 days.Next it gets tested.then it gets pumped into storage silos where it is processed and pasturised. After that it gets botteled and  put into crates and gets stored in a cool room then it goes to the supermarket.  

My holiday

In the holidays I went to Swan Lake with my Granny and my cousin Lucy. Swan Lake was a ballet about a group of ladies who got turned into swans by the evil genius.The last time I went to a ballet I was only four years old. After the ballet I slept at my Granny's house with Lucy. The rest of the holiday went by quickly. That was some of  the things I did in my holiday.

My diarama

This is my diarama about crocodiles. I did it  with Toby and Dakota.

Buddy

This is my reading book called buddy. Buddy is about a competitive boy named Josh and his disabled brother named Jake. My favourite part so far was at the start when Josh had a farting competitionn.I found it interesting that Josh has a disabled brother called Jake.

a scary dragon like creature with 7 eyes, 12 feet, torn sharp wings and a wart on his right eyeball! “Aghhh!” This tall tree looks like it would be an easy climb. “Ouch! My knee” I escaped as quickly as Usain bolt! The monster was gaining my lead. “Help!” It was then I realized I was naked in the forest with no one to save me. The creature was really close now! “Chomp” It was all over now. Who even am I? I don’t care now. I’m dead meat! “Gulp”

Colour Our World

This is the  under the sea group enjoying all their hard work.

This is a photo of the mermaids.I am the mermaid with the turquoise tail in the middle.

I enjoyed doing my dance in front of  lots of people. I was bubbling with exitement as we went on stage.
