Term 3 Highlight

My favourite part of term 3 was swimsafe. For that, every day we walked to the swimming pools and had lessons on things like survival strokes. Survival strokes are strokes that can be used for long periods of time without using too much energy. I really enjoyed it and I hope I can do it again next year.

Reading

For reading I have been reading a book called Super Finn. It's about a boy who wants to be a superhero. Despite being told by teachers, family and friends, Finn never stopped trying. He has been told many times that if he failed one more time during a project that he would have to redo the year. Finn is determined to get an achieved on his careers project, and when he based it on being a superhero, he had everybody lining up with questions. Super Finn is a great example of perseverance and expressing. The fact that when someone tries something and really puts their mind to it, they can achieve anything.

PJ Day

On Friday the 16th of May room 15 had a pj day. We got dressed into our pjs and watched Monster's University. I was wearing a hello kitty onesie that had a white fluffy tail.

My favourite part of the day was when we watched the movie because I drew lots of pictures of the characters.
We had a pj day because we achieved our class goal.

Anzac Day

25th April is ANZAC day. On ANZAC day we remember the soldiers who fought and died in the battle at Gallipoli  peninsula in 1915. We wear poppies because they are a symbol of hope and remembrance towards the soldiers. Over 11,000 ANZACs were killed in WWI. On ANZAC day we remember the soldiers who fought for our freedom.

Here is a monument of the trenches where the ANZACs stayed for over 9 months.

Tennis

For the past 3 weeks room 15 has been taking tennis lessons. We have learnt forehand, backhand and volleying. For forehand you hold the racket in your writing hand and stand side on. Backhand is the same except you use both hands and stand on the opposite side. Volleying is when you stand in front of the net front on holding your racket in your writing hand. You have to hit without the ball bouncing. My favourite part was learning volleying because it was easy. I could improve on my backhand because I always forget to use two hands.

Statistics Graph

In room 15 we made a graph about everyone's favourite snack food. This is a pie graph. We found we could change the type of graph just by moving the squares around. We had different colours for each different category. Green was fruits and veges, purple was drinks, pink was sweets and desserts and blue was other. The most common food was fruits and veges and the least common was other.
